Make A Heart
Would you like to make a heart or two (or seventy three, we don’t judge)?
Here’s some guidelines for you!
Materials
Hearts don’t need to be sewn or made of fabric, whatever creative tools you have can be used. They can be knitted, crochet, wood, ceramic, painted on little canvases or rocks – the only thing is they need to be handmade.
They should be safe to handle, which means no sharp edges or pointy pins. Any embellishments must be securely attached.
Hearts should be non-perishable, so not food or vegetation based.
They should also be considered “Safe for Work” as we don’t know who may find them and we don’t want to cause any offence.
You can add a loop of string or ribbon for hanging them up if you like, it’s entirely optional though.
Tags
The heart must be tagged with at least the website URL (madeyouaheart.com) but you can add words such as “A gift for you” or “Take me home” for example.
The only things you cannot add to the hearts or tags are any political or religious messages or symbols.
Please do not use the hearts or tags to advertise anything either. Thanks!
Some basic tags to get you started are available.
Where to hide them
Hearts should be left in public spaces only, and not anywhere that may cause problems or concern.
For example, hearts should not be left in zoos/wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, inside hospitals, inside shops, inside schools.
Your common sense will guide you on this.
